Hello! I love getting emails! I am not always fabulous at responding, but I promise to try! Feel free to send me any questions, comments, suggestions, hate mail, and whathaveyou to e.kristin.anderson AT gmail.com. (You know, replace AT with a @, I’m trying to give my spam filtering monkeys a break.) I am really awesome at keeping up with The Twitter, tho, so if you send me an email and don’t hear back right away, send me an @ reply at @ek_anderson and tell me to get on that already.
On school/library visits and speaking: See my speaking information here!
On editing, critiquing, and coaching:
I am part of a small company here in Austin that provides editorial and critiquing servies, as well as query letter help, workshops for kids and adults, help with college essays, and mentoring. Yellow Bird Editors is a great place to get an extra edge with your writing, and you can contact me through their website if you’re interested in editorial servies, coaching, critiquing, or other writerly services from me.
On reviews: I LIKE THEM! I love posting about my favorite books, especially new and soon-to-come books. I try to post at least one or two reviews a week. If you would like to send me review copies, please email me and I would be happy to provide an address. I do not read e-books at this time as they hurt my eyes (I’m serious, my eyeballs are lame) and I don’t have one of those fancy e-readers. (I <3 paper books anyway!) BUT, I could possibly be coerced. Think chocolate.
On interviews: Sometimes I read a book and I have questions. In this case, I will contact the publicist and/or the author and ask if they are interested in an interview. I try to post interviews at least once a week, as I think they’re sometimes the funnest posts to write and to read. I can’t guarantee that sending me a review copy will lead to an interview, but I’d say I interview at least half the authors I read, so there’s a good chance.
A note on review copies: I can’t guarantee that I will review EVERY book you send me. While I read very fast, I have yet to develop robotic reading prowess. Here’s what I can promise: I CAN PROMISE to try VERY HARD to post my reviews with timeliness, meaning, if your book comes out in October, I will probably post the review sometime around then. I can also PROMISE that if you send me a book, and I’m not into it, I won’t post a nasty, negative review. When I can’t get into a book, I do my best to pass it along to a fellow blogger and/or author in the community whom I think would enjoy it. I try to do due diligence for the book, the publisher/publicist, and the author. Books are hard work!
One of my favorite things about being a writer AND reader is sharing, and I love to share my favorite books with my friends and the blogosphere. So with that in mind, shoot me an email and maybe we can set something up!
